William Lloyd Garrison and family are eagerly awaiting news regarding the Villard family's departure from Heidelberg for America. Garrison is glad to learn that the Villard children, Harold and Oswald, are regaining their strength, and he's sorry that Helen is still weak. Even if the children fail to understand English, they "shall have the warmest welcome." Mrs. Helen Eliza Garrison is still troubled by "neuralgic pains in the right breast, side, and shoulder." While William L. Garrison is not a special admirer of General Butler, he thinks he should be judged fairly and given credit for commendable acts.
