A photograph of Walmer, a residence for senior girls at Royal Normal College for the Blind in Upper Norwood, England. The college property containing 16 acres was purchased at different times. The residences, bought with the land, retained their original names and were known as "The Mount", "The Roses", "Walmer", and "Windermere". They were occupied by boys and girls of different ages. A large building was erected containing a music hall, school rooms and dormitories.
