- Showing dent, file markings & flow back
The Fraher shell W. found a scene of murder. Prosecution claimed it was fired in Sacco's pistol. #1-2-3 are test shells fired in Sacco's pistol during trial. Sacco's gun's firing five strikes 23% off center of the primer. The Fraher shell has the dent in center. After Hamilton discovered this vital difference, the attys for defense invited the prosecution to fire 100 test shells in Sacco's gun to show it would not make a dent in center of primer - they declined the test. A different set of file mark records appear on primer of Fraher shell from those on the test shells. At first glance they appear to be alike. A close study quickly reveals the dissimilarity and positive proof that the Fraher shell was not fired in Sacco's pistol. View 1.
