William Lloyd Garrison urges Fanny Garrison Villard not to put an undue amount of time and effort in letter writing since she must be tired from visiting the Centennial Exhibition. There has been unusually warm weather. Garrison went with the children to Lynn by rail, along the Chelsea and Revere beaches. There was a snowstorm the day after they returned. Garrison's letter to Governor Chamberlain of South Carolina was published in the New York Times. William L. Garrison went to see the "monumental marble erected" at Mrs. Helen Eliza Garrison's grave. Garrison is surprised to hear that Henry Villard is to be transferred to New York instead of San Francisco. Sarah Southwick is now staying at Rockledge.
