<mods:abstract>George Jeffrey Tillotson writes to Amos A. Phelps about the uncomfortable weather in Brooklyn, claiming "the heat is particularly oppressive." He then asks Phelps "How do you succeed in t[he] city of renown" and if "t[he] city folks recieve cordially & immediately your full blooded Taylorism?" Tillotson describes Brooklyn as "flourishing" and tells Phelps more news about their college friends. He also discusses his vows of celibacy with Phelps.</mods:abstract>
