Phelps, Lewis Tappan speaks of "4 excellent meetings in the city of the Amistad Africans,” and a large meeting scheduled for the next day. 16 Africans, including Cinqué and 3 girls was in New York, and after visiting Philadelphia, they will return to the city to head to Boston. Tappan requests that Phelps make boarding and meeting arrangements for them in Boston.
