Letter from Wendell Phillips, Amherst, [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, 19 Feb[ruar]y [18]74
Description:
Wendell Phillips writes William Lloyd Garrison explaining that he was unable to attend the meeting in Stoneham owing to his prior engagement to deliver a lecture, but that he had telegraphed them detailing the reasons for his and Garrison's absence. Phillips states that prior lecture engagements also prohibited him from being at the State House. Phillips closes by informing Garrison that he had written to "Min. Le Favre".
