Letter from Milton Metcalf Fisher, Medway, to Amos Augustus Phelps, Aug 30. 1845
Description:
Milton M. Fisher writes to Amos A. Phelps about the response of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions to his (Fisher's) memorial to the Board. He describes written statements offered by some of the individual Board members, many of which expressed antislavery sentiment. Fisher says the Worcester association also adopted the memorial and voted that “the Board should oppose to the reception of any more slaveholders into the mission churches.” He wishes that Phelps would take part in pushing this agenda.
