<mods:abstract>Henry Egbert Benson forwards to Amos A. Phelps a letter in which David Stowell asks William Lloyd Garrison whether Phelps could attend a county convention at Mount Vernon. Benson says this letter “has been laying at the office.” He says the Faneuil Hall meeting was a failure, but this did some good for strengthening the spirit of the abolitionists. He then talks about George Thompson's retreat, and Phelps's upcoming visit to Albany.</mods:abstract>
