Summary provided by the Society for American Baseball Research, 2010-2011.
The New York Giants had three catchers that wore #9 between 1946 and 1950 -- Clyde Kluttz (1946), Bennie Warren (1947), and Wes Westrum (1948 to 1950). But Kluttz never faced the Braves in Boston in 1946 and Warren faced the Braves in Boston only once in 1947 (on April 24 as a late-inning defensive replacement). Therefore, it is more likely that Westrum is catcher #9 (Society for American Baseball Research, 2010-2011).
