Collation: Parchment (section 2) and paper (sections 1 and 3), fol. xx (later paper) + 49 (parchment) + xxviii (later paper) ; Section 1) 1-2⁶ 3⁸; Section 2) 1⁶⁻¹ (first leaf cancelled) 2-6⁸ 7⁸⁻⁴ (four cancels before fol. 46); section 3) 1⁶ 2⁸ 3⁸⁻¹ (apparently one leaf cancelled, impossible to determine which leaf) 4⁸⁻¹ (final leaf cancelled)
Layout: 1 column, number of lines varies in sections 1 and 3; section 2: 15 lines or 5 staves. Bounding and writing lines in light brown ink. Music in section 2, square notation on a 4-line red staff.
Script: Parts 1 and 3 written in later cursive; part 2 written in a gothic bookhand in black ink with red rubrics.
Decoration: 1- or 2-line red or red/black initials throughout section 2.
Binding: Original dark brown blind-stamped calf over wooden boards, IHS medallion in center of upper cover, bronze clasps and catches, edges stained blue, paper pastedowns. Housed in cloth-covered clamshell box.
