  <mods:abstract>Dr. Helen L. Heineman was the president of Framingham State College (now University) and she graduated from Queens College in 1958 as class valedictorian. She earned a degree in English literature. She received her M.A. from Columbia University, also in English, and a Ph.D. in the same subject from Cornell. She is the author of several books on Victorian literature, the first which was Mrs. Trollope: The Triumphant Feminine in the Nineteenth Century. The Ecumenical and Cultural Center, was renamed to be the Heineman Ecumenical and Cultural Center in 2000, as it was under her tenure that the Center was renovated and re-opened.</mods:abstract>
