Additional information accompanying item: The shading on the uppermost cloud on the left is removed; the hoisted sail is darker, and the reflection of the moon in the water instead of being circular is half a circle. Etched on zinc. In lower left corner, "Zinc, á Monsur Victor Schœlcher. 1868" and "S. Haden" in lower right corner.

Fifth state (Harrington 2). Additional drypoint work on the hoisted sail makes it darker. The shading on the cloud, added in III, removed. The lowest shadows of the boats have also been removed. The lower half of the reflection of the moon in the water has been removed and the bur on the shadows below the figures in the boat at the right has either worn or was burnished.
