Aerial view of the Milledgeville Plant of J.P. Stevens & Co., Inc. in Milledgeville, Ga. [graphic]
Description:
Aerial view of the Milledgeville Plant of J.P. Stevens & Co., Inc. in Milledgeville, Ga. Gelatin silver print, [ca1953-58]. Image depicts an aerial view of the Milledgeville Plant, part of the Woolen & Worsted Division of J.P. Stevens & Co., Inc., in Milledgeville, Ga. Plant is a sprawling one-story complex with a separate building connected by a walkway in the left center, which may be the offices (in front of the circle with the flagpole). Complex is surrounded primarily by open land; there is a parking lot on the right with some parked cars, and a few houses in the left foreground, which appear to be part of the plant property as they are fenced in along with the plant. The Milledgeville Plant produced dye worsted suitings and dress fabrics. The Southern Admin. Offices of the Woolen & Worsted Division of J.P. Stevens & Co., Inc. were located in Milledgeville, probably on this property. 60.5 x 45.75 cm. (OCLC)
