Under Old Battersea Bridge
Item Information
- Title:
- Under Old Battersea Bridge
- Description:
-
In the middle distance, and extending across the scene, is the great wooden bridge which, until 1880 spanned the Thames at Battersea. Through the broad central span appears a barge under sail. Beyond, the riverbank, lined with buildings and trees, stretches to the remote distance. People and vehicles are crossing the bridge. New drypoint lines are in the sky, just above the buildings and suspension bridge.
