Additional information on item: A high view of the Christian Science Center in Boston, Massachusetts. At the left is the 28-story Administration Building. The quarter-round building is the Sunday School. To the right of the Sunday School is the First Church of Christ, Scientist, known as The Mother Church. In the foreground to the right is the 5-story Church Colonnade building. Joined to the Church Colonnade is The Christian Science Publishing Society where the Christian Science Monitor and the church's religious publications are published. Running the length of the plaza is the 700-foot long reflecting pool. New construction for the Church Center was completed in 1975. Christian Science was discovered by Mary Baker Eddy in 1866. The Church of Christ, Scientist, was founded in 1879.
