Cockney sportsmen finding a hare
Item Information
- Title:
- Cockney sportsmen finding a hare
- Description:
-
A hare crouches in long grass beside an old tree. The younger man (rather thin and fashionably dressed, wearing Hessian boots with pointed toes, and a cartouche-box which denotes the volunteer) runs forward dragging his gun, and holds out his hat to throw it on the hare. Both dogs slink furtively behind him. The elder man (a fat John Bull in top-boots) squats down to watch (right). The landscape probably gives a good idea of the NE surroundings of London (BM).
