Letter from Theodore Parker, West Roxbury, [Massachusetts], to Convers Francis, 1840 Feb[ruary] 14
Description:
Theodore Parker writes to Convers Francis in regards to Bible interpretations involving the question of whether canonical gospels are older than apocryphal gospels. He believes that Jesus Christ did not know he was to rise again. He writes, "I have sometimes doubted that I knew that he should rise again, at least, that he had any definite knowledge as to the time or the manner of his resurrection."
