Henry Clarke Wright writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to a resolution that was adopted at a meeting of some friends of human rights held in Boston on May 26-27 1841 in which a committee of twelve be appointed to call a world's convention "to consider the subject of Human Rights in all its bearings-what they are-the present condition of mankind in respect to them the cause of their violation-& the means of their restoration & protection." He then names the twelve committee members chosen, including the addressee. He sets forth the aims of the convention and submits seven questions to which answers are solicited.
