Letter from Joseph Avery Howland, Worcester, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1852 August 26
Description:
Joseph A. Howland writes to Samuel May discussing a letter he received from "Mr. Earle" describing Charles Lenox Remond's "intention to be here on Sunday next." He says that since Theodore Parker is to speak in Worcester in the "forenoon and evening," he has arranged for Remond to lecture "at 2 o'clock at Horticultural Hall." He adds, "it was not thought best to arrange an afternoon meeting for [William Cooper] Nell ..." Howland then assures May that he has written to Remond with the plans and hopes "the arrangements will be satisfactory to all."
