Letter from Abby Kelley Foster, Worcester, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1852 Aug[ust] 18
Description:
In this letter to Samuel May, Abby Kelley Foster proposes a lecture tour with Sallie Holley in New Bedford and Nantucket. Foster says "it is difficult for me to be gone from home a long time" and suggests that Holley go to New Bedford first as she "is a first rate financier." She tells May that Holley "could hold several meetings and raise funds" before Foster joins her and they go to Nantucket for four or five days. She predicts "By this plan I could get home in about a week or eight days." Foster also tells May they received a letter from "Thomas S. Fabush of Upton" asking her to speak in the town, but she plans to tell "him that we prefer that you should make our appointments and refer him to you ..."
