Letter from Abby R. Talbot, Dighton, [Massachusetts], to Maria Weston Chapman, [1840] October 21
Description:
Abby R. Talbot writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to apologizing for not answering her letter before. She suggests that Maria write to the President of the Dighton female anti-slavery society and mentions that she has talked to a few officers who believe they can raise a few dollars for the anti-slavery fair. The number of members have decreased and "there seems to be but very little interest manifested on the subject." She mentions how it has been a year since they've had anyone lecture there.
