Letter from Adin Ballou, Milford, Hopedale, [Massachusetts], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1850 Nov[ember] 25
Description:
Adin Ballou writes to William Lloyd Garrison, inviting Garrison and George Thompson to visit Hopedale. He says that while they cannot pay him for the visit they will cover their "incidental expenses." Ballou says that while "we do not provide more as to the pecuniary & physical, as to the mental & spiritual we hope for a happy interview." He asks Garrison to reply and propose when he could come, telling him that "we are not particular when, if we can be sure of the visit." He also mentions that there are "two trains daily each way between Boston and Milford, so that you can come & go as your other engagements require."
