Description:
Thomas and Elizabeth L. Borton write to the Anti-Sabbath Convention stating that reading the call for the convention in the Liberator, "sent a thrill of joy through our souls." The Borton's believe that "the enforcement of a sabath [sic] by pennal [sic] law is an usurpation of power" and "the time has come when all who believe liberty of conscience to be the unalinable [sic] right of every human being out to speak out and enter their protest against such usurpation." They regret that they will not be able to attend the convention but encourage those there to "go on and may the fountain of light be your guide in all your procedings [sic]."
