R.S. Howland writes to Anne Warren Weston in regards to his delay in responding to her letters. Howland writes, "I do feel a deep and true interest in the Anti-Slavery cause-and the highest respect for many who have identified themselves with it-And if for various reasons I am now, prevented from manifesting this interest more decidedly-I hope it will not be one of the kind laid to my charge." A second letter from unknown to Miss Weston in regards to introducing her to Mrs. Wade, a "very lovely and excellent woman" who has identified herself with the abolitionist cause. She thanks her for the Liberator containing the account of [George] Thompson.
