Letter from George Bradburn, Nantucket, [Massachusetts], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1839 Sept[ember] 3
Description:
George Bradburn writes to William Lloyd Garrison sending him a copy of the Nantucket Inquirer newspaper, which contained a letter he wrote "on the subject of British emancipation in the West Indies." Bradburn criticizes the editor [Samuel Haynes Jenks] for taking out parts of his writing without his consent, and tells Garrison he has rewritten these parts in the margin of the copy he has sent to him. He then asks Garrison if he could ask "our friend [Joseph T.] Buckingham to publish the article in its original form in the Courier?" If Buckingham refuses, Bradburn asks Garrison to publish it in the Liberator. He also tells Garrison he is sending him "a long letter to H[enry] C[larke] Wright to be published in the Liberator" and asks him for copies of it, along with the Non-Resistant, "should it be printed in it also."
