Letter from Isabella Massie to Mary Anne Estlin, 1851 Sept[ember] 27
Description:
Isabella Massie writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to sending the Patriot newspaper. She comments on the published letters of Lewis Tappan and says she called yesterday at the Morning Advertiser office to get James Grant to insert them but did not find him in. She writes, "Had this testimony been borne by Garrison, or in fact any of his party it would not tell at does Tappan's." She comments on Mr. Estlin's generosity and the "infamy of the American Ministers." She trusts that Mrs. Chapman will give her "valuable testimony" to Mr. Davies' book. She does not know if the Weston family has passed through London yet.
