Description:
Henry Egbert Benson writes to William Lloyd Garrison passing along a message from his father, George Benson, that Garrison "will of course make his house your home as long as you remain in Brooklyn [Connecticut]." Benson states that he and his brother want him to stop in Providence, and he received a letter from his sister sending her regards to Garrison. He also writes that the bearer of the letter, F.D. Farley, "is brother to the minister of that name in this city, and a young man of kind & benevolent feelings." He asks Garrison to give Farley "any abolitionist tracts" for his trip "to the west in the spring." Benson adds, "Like the rest of us he is poor and pennyless [sic]."
