George Thompson writes to Robert Purvis preparing him for a disappointment and writes, "summon up all your philosophy and love for the 'cause' and you will be able to bear it." He speaks of making a debut before Lansings Church and describes his time there. He mentions an "admirable letter from Mr. Birney" at the occasion by Joshua Leavitt. Mr. Munroe should be able to sail on the 1st of March. William Benson is busy preparing letters for his Emancipation Societies in Great Britain. He has to defer his visit to Philadelphia due to "urgent calls upon my 'immediate' attention here."
