Letter from William James, Bristol, [England], to Mary Anne Estlin, 1855 Feb[ruary] 4
Description:
William James writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to his approval of Mr. Thompson's speech on the American Anti-Slavery Society. He says that Mr. T[hompson] must take it for granted that the Broad Street Committee acts fairly and honorably in future towards their American friends. He mentions that Mr. Pillsbury was not able to hear his speech due to Mr. Lolly talking the entire time. He writes, "How it was that Mr. Bishop and the others did not hear him I cannot tell."
