Letter from E.H. Whitwell to William Lloyd Garrison, 1877 Jan[uary] 28
Description:
E.H. Whitwell writes to William Lloyd Garrison apologizing for not sending his note earlier but sends it "now, with the most sincere sympathy for you in your great loss." Whitwell discusses the "beautiful memoir" of Helen Eliza Garrison, that Garrison's son, Frank, sent him so that he "should appreciate the strength and loveliness of her character." He also apologizes for missing his visit with Garrison, telling him that he was out seeing an ill grand-nephew, but he hopes to find Garrison and his son at home in the future.
