Letter from George Armstrong, Clifton, [England], to John Bishop, 1847 Aug[ust] 26
Description:
George Armstrong writes to John Bishop Estlin about Dr. Joseph Hutton refusing to sign the Reply to the Bostin Invitation unless the clause "Remember, Brethren" is omitted. He writes, "Now, it would be very important to have his name: -& yet, of some importance, too,--not to weaken our address." He asks J.B. what he thinks. He describes the responses he has received thus far and says that he has written about 40 letters, "I have I suppose some 15 or 20 more to write."
