Description:
Edward Royall Tyler writes to Amos A. Phelps in regards to a package he shipped a few weeks prior of his file, New Englanders for London. He intends to print much on slavery and desires Phelps' assistance in more material on slavery for his publication. He lists topics that he wishes to discuss in this publication such as "the impoverishing nature of slavery, the immediate emancipation on the soil a source of national wealth and security, the history of emancipations--slaves need no apprenticeships to propose them for freedom--the impossibility of preparing slaves, while such, for the better enjoyment of liberty, the obstacles offered by slavery to general education and to the maintenance of religious institutions, and to the purity of public morals, etc etc--."
