Robert Purvis writes to William Lloyd Garrison concerning "outrageous statements" a "Mr. Douglass in England" made about Purvis. Purvis rejects the claims about his "blood stained riches" and asks Garrison to refute these statements either in the Liberator "or in any way you may deem best a denial of his lying statements."
