- Leyden
- Description:

In the foreground, slanting from left to right, is an open roadway along the side of a canal, on which several barges and other boats are plying. Down the canal is a row of houses, partly veiled by trees, and interrupted by a massive octagonal tower with cupola and belfry; on the sides of the tower are inscribed the points of the compass. Very unfinished. The work ceases 35 mm. from the left side of the plate, and there are many white patches, especially between the trees along the canal.
