Liberty's clock
Item Information
- Title:
- Liberty's clock
- Description:
-
The same composition as Dodgson number 206, but on a taller plate. The subject is arched at the top; ropes hanging from the line of the arch are connected at various points with the unfinished building on the right, while the longest of them reaches to a group of workmen standing at the foot of the hoarding in Beak Street. The street is crossed by numerous wires. A line is ruled across the plate 3/16 in. (4 mm.) from the bottom; the space beneath this line is blank, but in many impressions thickly covered with ink. The advertisement boards on the left are shaded horizontally. STOCKWELL SHIPPING is still legible, but the notice below it is almost entirely obliterated.
