Notes:
The December 10, 1924 fire was the most severe crisis in the Normal School’s history. On-lookers saw Tillinghast Hall and the brick Normal School building, as well as the smaller old Woodward Hall, engulfed in flames. The other campus buildings, nearby homes, and the Unitarian Church were all in danger of catching fire. Though three buildings were completely destroyed, no lives were lost.
