Albert Gardner Boyden (1827-1915) was a member of the 26th class of the State Normal School at Bridgewater, graduating in 1849. After serving as an assistant to both Nicholas Tillinghast and Marshall Conant, A.G. Boyden was appointed principal in August of 1860. Boyden served as principal until 1906, when he resigned and took the title principal emeritus. He continued teaching classes at the school until his death in May 1915.
