In 1957 the John J. Kelly Gymnasium opened with then state-of-the-art facilities and equipment and an Olympic-size swimming pool. The building was named in honor of the college's sixth president and avid sports enthusiast, John J. Kelly. The Adrian Tinsley Athletic Center - a 84,000 square foot modern facility, opened in 2002 on the East Campus.
