Description:
James MacDonald moved to Lancaster 1900 and worked at the Center Railroad Depot as the Lancaster freight agent. From 1900 to 1938, he also took pictures of the town by carrying with him his camera, tripod, and pieces of glass for printing the negatives. He died in 1947. Later, his wife, Esther, and son Duncan gave the entire collection, 2,500 pieces of glass, to the Lancaster Historical Commission.
