Interview with UMass Amherst Professor of Music. Arrival at UMass in 1976. Music Department at time of his arrival as it had evolved from Alviani through Bezanson; Bob Sutton. Building the department and music; attracting quality students and faculty. Bringing electronic music to UMass -- had some prominence, but did not survive Bestor's tenure. Accomplishments during his time at UMass: developing a direction in building up the student body capable of matching the faculty. Bestor's composition; studied with Hindemith; instruments (piano, French horn).
