Woman's handsewn petticoat or underskirt of pink satin, lined with darker, bright pink glazed woolen fabric (calamanco); pink silk tape binding around hem; elaborate quilting in large figure floral/leaf vine and fishscale-like patterns; long, full skirt, tightly pleated around plain waistband; upper back opening, with single white glass button closure on waistband. Lining fabric described as linsey-woolsey glazed with beeswax, with wool padding; motifs in quilting described as pineapple and pomegranate by previous curator (and later by MQDP), or palms. Petticoat originally catalogued (incorrectly) with the inside out. Width measurement below taken across bottom at hem; waist measures 14 inches.
