Vive l'offensive ouvriere! a la porte le gouvernement
Description:
This poster is connected with the establishment of Ligue communiste révolutionnaire (the Revolutionary Communist League in France) in 1974, after that organization's forerunner Ligue Communiste (the Communist League) was banned the year before. Additional text on the poster reads: "la ligue communiste dissoute. lip occupé. le racisme toléré. ASSEZ! meeting." The poster also notes the meeting is "organisé par rouge." The poster is in black and off-white colors, and features a bold lower-case typeface. On the left side of the poster is a drawing of a hammer and sickle that, while a reference to Communism and the Russian revolution, is very different stylistically from the more commonly-used hammer and sickle.
