'After graduation from Brockton High and three years at Southeastern Massachusetts University, I saw some recruiting posters. I went in for information and a month later was in boot camp in Florida. At first my parents were shocked and confused but then they were proud of their American sailor. I got to travel the Americas. After six years on and two on standby, I was honorably discharged in 1991. Having been married and with two children it was time to settle down. Pictured: Moises Rodrigues, U.S. Navy petty officer.
