'This poster collage shows the 1973 Ardmore Hotel fire which led to an empty abandoned lot. In 2014, a group of residents established the Frederick Douglass Neighborhood Association and turned the lot into a community flower garden and gathering space. Lynn Smith founded the group. The collage is important because it shows the power of community spirit and service and engagement. The garden is steps from our Liberty Tree and the Civil War Underground Railroad stop.
