Discussing the Avignon affair. McCormack explains the arrangement was originally presented as low risk, but when documents got drawn up, it involved significant risk to IMG with the addition of balance sheet debt. McCormack and other executives had doubts so submitted it to IMG's Finance Committee as well as bankers at Morgan. However, Buckley went ahead with the transaction, despite the fact that everyone advised against it and McCormack now wants to make it understood that Buckley must conduct his business "within the overall policies that govern the way" IMG does business.
