A good deal has been happening in Pittsburgh: "When I took this job I had visions of a nice, pleasant time organizing the Press and negotiating a contract with the Paul Block Post-Gazette. But just before we were to negotiate, along comes a strike by Federal AFL union of outside circulators. It lasted nine days and twice the paper closed down completely when union men refused to go through the picket line. But apparently all's well that ends well -- out of the mess came a victory for the strikers, a greatly strengthened union feeling throughout the paper and, I think, a much more reasonable attitude on the part of management."
