Bayonet, badly rusted/corroded. Blade is 15" long. Blade is curved on top side and triangular on bottom side. Base of blade is continuous with a curved portion with an opening for a wooden handle (not present). Paul Lupo found the bayonet ca. 1981 while working to regrade the driveway of the Allen House, 35 Webster Street, West Newton. Bayonet was found directly in front of the barn, buried approx. 4 feet deep.
