Toby jug. Belonged to James Jackson Higginson; used for ale. Seated man in 18th Century clothing- black tricornered hat with gold trim, long dark blue coat, yellow trousers, and boots. Heavy set and smiling with red cheeks, holding a jug in both hands. Handle out of his back, spout out of one corner of hat, on base. (a) is jug; (b) is top portion of hat, which serves as a lid.
