Width of road: 40 ft. Travelled way: width 9 ft., grade 2 ft. per 100. Surface: level, very uneven, full of ruts 11 in. deep and mounds of grass material: sand with a little gravel sides: right, slopes down, left, rolling gutters: right, none that road could drain into, left, none that road could drain into sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Road is very poor. Ruts are sometimes deep and sometimes shallow, and are very uneven. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
